The Starlight Point Stories

When I was a college student, I escaped textbooks and spent my summer days working at an amusement park. My experience four summers in a row became the inspiration for Starlight Point Stories published by Harlequin Heartwarming. The first book in the series, Under the Boardwalk, was published in January, 2016, and introduces the Hamilton family, owners of Starlight Point. The summer resort and amusement park has just been transferred to the second generation upon the sudden death of their father, and siblings Jack, June, and Evie have some surprises in store.

In Under the Boardwalk, Jack Hamilton tackles the emotional roller coaster of running an amusement park that he discovers is deeply in debt. In addition to making sure the rides and beaches welcome summer visitors, he also negotiates a deal with the park’s food vendors. Augusta Murphy leases three bakeries at Starlight Point, but she also leads the other vendors in their opposition to the terms of the new lease. She spends the summer making tasty treats and sugar cookies while trying very hard not to let down her friends and fall in love with the new owner of Starlight Point.

Carousel Nights follows the story of June Hamilton. She left Starlight Point seven years ago to pursue her dream of dancing on Broadway. Talented and ambitious, she also struggles with a knee injury she won’t admit to anyone. Coming home for the summer to Starlight Point gives her the chance to rest her knee while revamping the live theater shows at the amusement park. She never plans to stay past the end of summer…until she reconnects with a former love who is now the head of the maintenance department at Starlight Point. Mel Preston is as handsome and charming as ever, but he also has a young son whose heart he won’t allow to be broken by another woman who won’t stick around. As the summer passes, Mel and June have to find a way to put love first.

The third book in the series, Meet Me on the Midway, releases in December, 2016. The youngest Hamilton, Evie, has her own roller coaster love story with a fire inspector who challenges every one of her plans for expanding and improving Starlight Point. With a dark past shadowing his every move, firefighter Scott Bennett forces Evie to decide what she really wants for the future of Starlight Point…and for herself.

I hope you will love being taken along for a trip to a summer resort where the sound of carousels and roller coasters mixes with the aroma of French fries and cotton candy. Falling in love at Starlight Point has its ups and downs, but it’s always thrilling and worth the wait!

Everyone’s counting on him

With the sudden death of his father, Jack Hamilton finds himself running the family amusement park, Starlight Point. His first job? Balance the books, and that means raising the rent for vendors like baker Augusta Murphy.

Gus won’t accept the new contract…not without a fight. She rallies the other vendors and sets out to negotiate with Jack. At least, she tries. How do you play hardball with a man who’s charming and kind and still grieving? Gus needs to figure it out fast, because the closer she gets to Jack, the more she risks losing everything.
