Just in time for Valentine’s Day, our 5th Grand Hotel book is ready with plenty of romance.
And if you’re ready for St. Patrick’s Day, try your luck with the 2nd Grand Islander book.
Last year at this time, I wrote a blog in which I declared 2016 my best writing year yet. It was truly a great year, but it was overwhelmingly surpassed by 2017! This year, I published SIX books! I’m so happy and thrilled by the reader response to books I love writing. It was also delightful to continue the Grand Hotel series and introduce the Grand Islander series with my best friend and writing partner May Williams. We drank a lot of wine, scribbled a lot of notes, and wrote a lot of books! Life is good.
This year’s books were:
My writing schedule for 2018 looks fantastically busy. I’ve written twenty books now, and there will be at least six more in the coming year. I couldn’t be happier, and I hope 2018 will be a wonderful year for you, too. Happy New Year!
In human years, this book would just be getting ready for Kindergarten–an appropriate age because the heroine of Truly Lucky in Love is a kindergarten teacher with a lot of heart. I wrote it about five years ago, and it’s still very close to my heart. It has a new title and a new cover that reflects the autumn season of the novel, but it’s the same story I’ve always loved and am so glad I wrote. I hope you’ll join Jazz and her handsome love interest Kurt as they find out that being lucky in love is really all you need.
Available at Amazon for only $2.99.
I’m always dreaming about vacation. Our family’s guilty secret is that we spend all of our spare cash on travel. It was a day trip that inspired my writing partner and I to create a whole series about a destination island: White Pine Island. This island of our creation off the coast of Georgia has everything a tourist could want. Restaurants, a winery, shops, trails to explore, water sports, beaches, and fabulous resorts. The queen of the resorts is the Grand Hotel. Owned by the Phillips family, the Grand Hotel has invited guests for a century and is the hallmark of elegance. Five course dinners and an orchestra playing dance music every evening make a visit to this island resort something to remember forever.
May Williams and I dreamed up the idea while on a train trip. We rode the Amtrak to Chicago for a book signing event, and we had our notebooks out the entire way there and back. We both love to travel, so a vacation series about a charming Southern Island seemed just right. So far, we are humbled, grateful, astounded, and amazed by the number of books our readers have bought! We’re going to keep the connected novellas coming, and we’re having more fun than we ever dreamed of! Thank you, readers!
I’m almost afraid to say it, but I think 2016 was the year I’ve been waiting for all along as a writer. My impressive stack of rejection letters stretching back to 2005 have finally been overshadowed by my dreams that came true this year. I’ve wanted to get in the door with the Harlequin family for a decade, and even though I squeezed onto the front porch with one novel published by Carina in 2012, I feel that I’ve finally made it through the front door with three Harlequin Heartwarming novels published this year. I’m in the foyer, people! I can see the family room and part of the kitchen from here, and I’m hoping I’ll be invited to stay a long time!
In addition to my Heartwarming titles, I was also in the boxed set A Heartwarming Holiday, my individual novella Set for New Year’s released on its own, I released a fun summer novel Summer at the Bluegill Bait Shop, and started a new series with my best friend Christmas at the Grand Hotel.
Best of all, Harlequin offered me another three-book contract for novels releasing in 2017 and 2018. Thank you, Harlequin! It’s been a great year, and I’ve loved meeting readers at book signings and via social media. I hope the next year is a happy one for everyone!
Thank you for your generous response to the first two books in the Starlight Point series from Harlequin Heartwarming. I hope you loved Under the Boardwalk and Carousel Nights, and I hope you are looking forward to Meet Me on the Midway as much as I am! Can I confess that this is my favorite of the three? This is the story of the youngest Hamilton sibling, Evie, as she finds true love after a roller coaster summer at Starlight Point. The best news? Harlequin is having a sale on the first two books in the series to celebrate the launch of the third. Here’s the infographic with the discount codes you’ll need:
With the fall chill in the air, I’m thinking Christmas. If you know me, though, you already know Christmas is one of my favorite things to write about. All my novels take place in either summertime or at Christmastime. Can’t help it. Must be the kid in me.
Need a quick Christmas fix to get your holidays going? I have two new releases that should go on your wishlist and they are both only $.99. Light the fire and load up your Kindle!
Christmas at the Grand Hotel is the first in a series I’m writing with the wonderful author May Williams. It takes place at an elegant resort on an island off the Georgia coast.
Novella #1: Ned Phillips is in line to inherit the Grand Hotel, but he spends his time running the hotel’s golf course. His heart hits a hole in one when he reconnects with Bethany whose family has been visiting the Grand Hotel for years.
Novella #2: Ellen Phillips’s family owns the Grand Hotel, but she prefers to operate the island’s airplane and ferry. When she falls in love with her best friend and fellow islander just when he plans to leave White Pine Island, they need the magic of the holiday season to show them the way to true love.
Ready for FIFTEEN connected sweet novellas straight from Christmas Town, Maine?
Only $.99 and already #1 on three Amazon lists, you’ll want to cozy up with these novellas written by Harlequin Heartwarming authors. Spanning the holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year’s, the novellas share a setting, characters, and the spirit of the season.
My story is the last one in the boxed set. Set for New Year’s is part of a trilogy taking place during the annual Nutcracker Ballet performance in Christmas Town. Costume designer Jenny Roberts has a chance to believe in love again when she meets carpenter and set builder Neil Roberts.
I hope you’ll love both these Christmas boxed sets and have a great start to the season!
I’m excited to bring you a fun summer novel so you can cherish these warm days before fall takes over! This contemporary romance takes place in a town I’ve visited before: Bluegill, Michigan. I hope Summer at the Bluegill Bait Shop keeps summer in your heart all year long!
When Shasta Cleveland’s great aunt chain-smokes her way to the great lounge in the sky, Shasta takes over the family bait shop on the Michigan shore. Jilted in love, she needs a fresh start in her hometown. But she has no intention of offering beer, bait, and a bathroom to the fishing crowd. Appalled by their tacky windbreakers and baseball caps, Shasta resolves to bring the local fishing crowd high quality outdoor apparel. She may not know walleye from hip waders, but that doesn’t stop her from pouring her money and her heart into reinventing a bait shop and believing she knows what fishermen should want.
While Shasta waits for customers to pull out their credit cards for her fancy vests and cashmere-lined gloves, Roger Shelton ties his aging fishing boat to her dock. A cop and weekend fisherman who rivals Mr. Darcy in reticence, he’s the opposite of the effusive petite blonde hawking overpriced apparel at the store where the sign still says “Bait Shop.” Although Roger’s general policy is staying out of everyone else’s business and letting them make their own mistakes, he’s intrigued by Shasta and her enthusiasm for offering advice to everyone—whether they want it or not.
As the summer passes, Shasta gets fishing lessons from Roger’s brother and learns hard truths about what customers in her hometown want from the shop by the river. As she gradually adds minnows, bait, and a dreaded porta-john for the pleasure of the local fishermen, she also takes on another challenge: melting the ice around Roger Shelton’s carefully guarded heart.
Please visit my Amazon author page to keep up with my new releases. 2016 has been a great year for me with THREE Harlequin Heartwarming romances, TWO different sets of Christmas novellas, and ONE fun stand-alone novel Summer at the Bluegill Bait Shop. Thanks, readers!!

Carousel Nights by Amie Denman
Can magic, in the form of love, be found in an amusement park? It just might be if June and Mel can open their hearts to it. Come along on the tour and find out more about their story…
August 28th: Grand Finale
The Starlight Point Stories
When I was a college student, I escaped textbooks and spent my summer days working at an amusement park. My experience four summers in a row became the inspiration for Starlight Point Stories published by Harlequin Heartwarming. The first book in the series, Under the Boardwalk, was published in January, 2016, and introduces the Hamilton family, owners of Starlight Point. The summer resort and amusement park has just been transferred to the second generation upon the sudden death of their father, and siblings Jack, June, and Evie have some surprises in store.
In Under the Boardwalk, Jack Hamilton tackles the emotional roller coaster of running an amusement park that he discovers is deeply in debt. In addition to making sure the rides and beaches welcome summer visitors, he also negotiates a deal with the park’s food vendors. Augusta Murphy leases three bakeries at Starlight Point, but she also leads the other vendors in their opposition to the terms of the new lease. She spends the summer making tasty treats and sugar cookies while trying very hard not to let down her friends and fall in love with the new owner of Starlight Point.
Carousel Nights follows the story of June Hamilton. She left Starlight Point seven years ago to pursue her dream of dancing on Broadway. Talented and ambitious, she also struggles with a knee injury she won’t admit to anyone. Coming home for the summer to Starlight Point gives her the chance to rest her knee while revamping the live theater shows at the amusement park. She never plans to stay past the end of summer…until she reconnects with a former love who is now the head of the maintenance department at Starlight Point. Mel Preston is as handsome and charming as ever, but he also has a young son whose heart he won’t allow to be broken by another woman who won’t stick around. As the summer passes, Mel and June have to find a way to put love first.
The third book in the series, Meet Me on the Midway, releases in December, 2016. The youngest Hamilton, Evie, has her own roller coaster love story with a fire inspector who challenges every one of her plans for expanding and improving Starlight Point. With a dark past shadowing his every move, firefighter Scott Bennett forces Evie to decide what she really wants for the future of Starlight Point…and for herself.
I hope you will love being taken along for a trip to a summer resort where the sound of carousels and roller coasters mixes with the aroma of French fries and cotton candy. Falling in love at Starlight Point has its ups and downs, but it’s always thrilling and worth the wait!

I’m so excited about great things going on, I’m not sure what order to put them in. But here’s the short list:
3. Starlight Point Book 3 Meet Me on the Midway is up for preorder, will release in December, and will…drumroll, please…be followed by a 4th book in the Starlight Point series next year!
4. Speaking of that 4th book, I got a phone call from my amazing editor Dana Grimaldi offering me THREE more writing contracts with Harlequin Heartwarming! You’ll see those books in 2017 and 2018. 5. I’m doing a Kindle Scout campaign to crowd-source some excitement for my romance Summer at the Bluegill Bait Shop. Please click on the title to go to the page to vote for me! Thanks very much! If you enjoyed The Gull Motel, this book is for you.
6. Along with 14 other Harlequin Heartwarming authors, I’ve written a Christmas novella for the boxed set A Heartwarming Holiday. This set of PG Christmas romances is on preorder for only $.99.
